Glazing Policies

Glazing Committee

  • The Glazing Committee will maintain dipping/pouring glazes, as approved by the Executive Committee, in amounts and varieties appropriate to the club’s needs.  The Committee will, on occasion, review and adjust the variety and quantity of glazes to reflect the usage demands of the club members.  Where appropriate, glazes may be added or removed to meet the changes in demand and coloring styles.

  • The Glazing Committee will be responsible for assessing the quantity of raw materials on hand and placing replenishment orders, either directly with the supplier or through the club’s purchasing agent, as approved by the Executive Committee.

  • All dry glaze raw materials will be stored in an area approved by the Executive Committee, in a manner to assure safety to all members and guests.  All dry glaze raw materials will be clearly labeled to assure easy identification while in storage.

  • The Glazing Committee will maintain a reference chart of all dipping/pouring glazes identifying the most common appearance and nature of each available glaze and sample tiles that represent the dipping/pouring glazes and their anticipated appearance on white and dark clay.

  • The Glaze Committee Chairperson will establish procedures for the use of the glaze room and its equipment.  All procedures shall be subject to review by the Governing Board.
